Safe and Sound Projects

One of the most challenging projects we undertake are our Safe and Sound Projects. These are yearlong projects starting in September and finishing in July the following year.

For the last two years these have been run successfully with a secondary school in the West Midlands.

The aim of the projects is to focus on a group of young people within the school who require special attention whether that be SEN or Gifted and Talented. They will be give the chance to learn a variety of skills throughout the year which will help them in the classroom and also generally in everyday life.

The project culminates in a choice of a weeklong expedition of their choice. This could be walking, mountain biking or open canoeing and could be anywhere in the country.

The project is one session a month covering all elements of outdoor education from kayaking to bushcraft to archery.

After three months we will take the group on an overnight residential then the following month a two night residential then finally the expedition.
